Raleigh is on Forbes’ 2015 list of the 25 best places to retire.
New to the annual list, the City of Oaks joins Asheville as the two North Carolina cities on the unranked list.

A “hot diversified economy from state capital, tech and colleges,” a cost of living at national average, median home prices of $213,000 and a moderate climate are among Raleigh’s attractive traits for retirees, says Forbes. Negatives include below average air quality and low marks for walkability and volunteering.
Other newcomers to the list are Port Charlotte, Florida and Rochester, Minnesota.
