Raleigh, Durham Among Most ” Recession-Recovered” Cities

 

Durham and Raleigh are among the most “recession-recovered” cities, according to a new report from personal financial website WalletHub.
Among the 150 largest U.S. cities, Durham is No. 19 and Raleigh is No. 22 – the highest-ranked in North Carolina, except for Fayetteville at No. 9.  The rankings are based on multiple employment and economic measures, including unemployment rate, inflow of college-educated workers, median household income, bankruptcy rate and average credit score.
Charlotte is about average, at No. 71. Greensboro is No. 86 and Winston-Salem is No. 92.
The top five most recession-recovered cities are Lubbock, Texas; Denver; Corpus Christi, Texas; Anchorage, Alaska; and Houston.
